Georgia's law schools raised over $35,100 in the 2024 Legal Food Frenzy, a collaborative effort with the State Attorney General's Office and the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. This represents a staggering 40% increase from the previous year, providing about 140,000 meals for Georgia neighbors in need.

Mercer University School of Law won the Grand Prize Attorney General's Law School Cup, raising more than $15,000 for the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. University of Georgia School of Law secured second place with over $10,000 for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia in Athens. Georgia State Univesity raised $2503. And finally, Emory Law School came in third by increasing their donation amount 75% this year to $6925.

"The dedication and enthusiasm displayed by Georgia's law schools in the 2024 Legal Food Frenzy are truly inspiring,” commented Danah Craft, Executive Director of Feeding Georgia. “Their efforts have made a tangible impact in the fight against hunger, providing direct support to our regional Food Banks."

“Once again, Georgia’s law schools have come together to deliver meaningful results for our local food banks and neighbors in need,” said Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr. “We thank our future lawyers for their invaluable contributions, and we commend their dedication to ending hunger in our state.”

Looking ahead, Feeding Georgia announced the upcoming statewide Legal Food Frenzy. The annual industry competition will be held April 15-26 with a goal to raise $1 million this year. Registration is open for attorneys, law firms, and law-affiliated organizations across Georgia to join the cause.
